2:30 to 3:45 North Coast Blues

North Coast Blues has been called “The Peninsula’s Premiere Blues Band”. The current lineup consists of band manager Clint Carter, guitar, percussion, vocals; Don King, bass, vocals; Fred Jacobs, drums; Bryan Foster, keys, harmonica, vocals; Dave Jones, lead guitar, vocals. All are seasoned veterans and each brings something unique to the band. Their thick harmonies and musicianship make them a crowd favorite. While Blues is the primary focus, they also venture into some Jazz, Rock and Funk, sometimes combining elements of these genres together in their original music.  NCB is currently working on their first album, Stuck in Neutral and it should be ready by the festival.

4:15 to 5:30 Norman Sylvester Band

We wouldn’t think of having a blues festival without having the Norman Sylvester Band on board. They consistently thrill the crowd with their dynamic, soulful sets. They have been on our good luck charm since back in the days of Ilwaco Seafood & Blues, and we are proud to have them back this year.

Norman Sylvester is one of the most engaging showmen around the Northwest. Weddings, festivals, corporate parties and club venues all call on his band for spectacular music and entertainment! Influenced from his Southern Baptist early years and the Gospel Quartet his father, Mack Sylvester, toured with (they were as sharp with their fashion as they were in their harmonies), these examples show in Sylvester’s own performance. There is the work for the paycheck and the work for your passion. Norman’s music is most definitely his passion! The Boogie Cat has paid his dues and now he is living his dreams. Sylvester’s daughter. Lenanne, brings the bling with her clear as a bell, soulful lead vocals and perfect familial harmonies.

The new CD release, and I do mean NEW “ ” continues Norman’s legacy. The Norman Sylvester Band performs for clubs, corporate parties, wedding receptions, private parties and all types of music festivals. https://normansylvester.com/

6:00 – 7:30 Bottleneck Blues Band

“Bottleneck Blues Band plays classic electric dance Blues.” In 2015 Bottleneck Blues Band was named best new Blues band by the Cascade Blues Association and nominated for Best CD of the Year Award and in 2023 they were nominated for Best Traditional Blues Band. The band has performed all over Oregon, Washington and Idaho playing some of the biggest festivals in the region, including The Waterfront Blues Festival, Vancouver Wine and Jazz Festival, The Gorge Blues Fest, The Peninsula Blues Festival, The Crawdad Blues Festival, The Cowlitz County Fair and many more. The band is currently working on their third Cd ” Live Serenity.” The Bottleneck Blues Band sounds great, plays great and are amazing to watch. There is something fundamental about the group that people understand as soon as they start playing. Come dance with the Bottleneck. Band leader Noah Bell slays with his gritty, greasy slide leads.

Two time Grammy winning guitarist Ken Emerson has backed and toured with countless headliners, including Todd Rundgren, Charlie Musselwhite, Don Fagen (Fritz the Cat, they won a Grammy), Pablo Cruise, Ace of Cups and dozens more, including the legendary Les Paul. Ken is highly esteemed in the Hawai’an music world, having been on the team who won the first ever Grammy for a Hawaiian music collaboration, with legends of the genre. He is often a special guest at living legend George Kahumoku, Jr’sMasters of Slack Key Showcase’ at Napili Shores Resort on Maui. His lap steel and slack key skills are beyond measure. Blues artist Michael Osborn is a highly accomplished and well regarded lead guitarist, vocalist and band leader specializing in the Blues. Michael was lead guitarist for John Lee Hooker’s band for many years, touring the world and thrilling crowds of thousands. His band, Michael Osborn & the Drivers was extremely popular in Portland, Oregon, where he now resides. Mike’s friendship with Ken Emerson has led to collaborating when their schedules allow and they are working on a NW tour at the end of this summer. Audiences nearly levitate when they call up other artists to join their ‘Wall of Guitars” finales. These guys are the absolute, bona-fide, real deal.
